Alas and alack(sp), life got in the way yesterday and the brazing was put off until today. Yeah, the job, all 24 hours a week of it gets in the way. Sweet Tina has assured me I get all day tomorrow for a "frame day". This morning, I spent some time pre-fitting the seat stays. I like. Devo, do you have a preference as to spacing of the stays at the seat tube? Like Dylans or directly behind the seat tube lug?

  1. I can't think of a reason to do one over the other. I vote for which ever will look faster. I will need to rely on optical illusions to look fast. I will leave it up to you and what you think with be best for the bike.

  2. Hey Jared here. You want to start building me one of those. I want disc brakes though. Can you do sliding drop outs for single speed and geared? I want to name it Isla.

  3. Paragon makes sliding disc brake dropouts. You could also do an eccentric bottom bracket. Some companies make a custom horizontal dropouts with slotted disc brake mounts so that you can put the disc brake in an appropriate place regardless of the axle position in the horizontal dropout. This later option is very interesting to me, but I was unable to find any for sale to the general public. The first two options are easy to get a hold of.

  4. I hear eccentric bottom brackets are always a pain to maintain and to stop from creaking. I was thinking vertical drop outs with a disc brake mount and derailleur hanger on the drop out. The Voodo Wazoo has that set up but I'm thinking the drop out that the sliding dropouts mount to are propritary to Voodo. They do sell the sliding drop outs seperately. Jared
