Gary dropped off this beautiful old Merckx MX Leader with a small dent in the down tube and a peculiar rust hole in the drive side seat stay.  I love those bi-oval MAX lugs and tubes, gotta find me some.
After removing the slug of JB Weld that it had been filled with, the inside of the stay is rust free, The current version of the MAX seat stay diameter is 12 mm at the dropout and this is 10 mm. so the stay will have to be repaired in place.

Well, the Rain Speeder is done, mostly. It was snatched from my garage so quickly, I didn't have time to shoot pics of the bare frame. So, here it is without fenders and with fenders.

The fender attaching nut will soon be replaced by a polished stainless steel tail light mount that Major Dave is fabbing. It's really quite nifty and I'm going to have one on my new rain bike.
