Scary shot, eh?  I was so focused on the larger diameter of the 2.5, 29" tire That I didn't provide sufficient seatstay side clearance.  It was only 5mm and Devo needs 10mm.  I will order some straight stays this morning and custom bend them to fit this application.  The 26" MTB stays were just too short in the center section.  The only 29" specific seatstays I can find are the Columbus and they are too long.  I have looked at some of the best local builders 29r's and will use some of their experience in designing Devos.
