This disc brake conversion is all but finished.  Only a little brightening of the metal and a coat of etch prime left to do.  I've already mocked it up with the wheel and caliper and the length of the slots allows for plenty of axle travel.

Little by little, sneaking up on perfection, thanks to Don Ferris' fixture.  There will be a brace between the two tabs.

 The fork is done, including prime and rust inhibitor.

Obviously, the first thing I will do is remove the eyelet.

When the pads are centered on the disc, the slots go out of parallel with the dropout.  Also the slots are too long and too far apart.  Unless I can find a better tab, this is going to be some project!

I took in a side job to mount disc tabs on this Surly 1 X 1 single speed.  First thing was to strip the offending paint.

 Here's the first fit check with the Phrunt Sheui ISO fixture.  Lots to do.

Getting closer and doing a visual mock up for my own mental well being.

Two fine looking pinches to give me a little more clearance should I want to run 28 mm tires.

 Don Ferris' fine Notorious B.B.G. also works for rough alignment on the chain stays.

Both chain stays are now in with spot on alignment and plenty of room for fender clearance.

Finally have the non drive side chain stay fitted for brazing, less the pinching.  I'm a bit preoccupied with the internal geared, disc brake, belt drive frame I'm going to build next.  Trying to think of a creative belt removal method.

There have been some incidents of paint chipping by the rotor while installing the rear wheel.  A small piece of stainless sheet should take care of that.

These are the Pacenti chain stays with the preformed dropout end.  They look good, even if a little mass produced looking.  However, I have to know the inside of the stay is bright and shiny before brazing.  I will grind the preformed area out so I can clean the I.D. of the stay.

They brazed up beautifully and ready to soak.
